He then went on to produce two songs on Dragonette’s ’Bodyparts’ album, which garnered a nomination in the 2013 Juno Awards for Best Dance Recording. He developed a long-term relationship with the band and moved to Toronto to produce most of their follow-up album ‘Royal Blues’. Having co-written the song ‘High Five’, the album proved to be quite lucrative as it landed syncs several Netflix shows, & a handful of notable Hollywood trailers over the following few years.
Throughout 2016 & 2017, Davey produced and co-wrote 2 EP's with Nettwerk artist Harrison Brome, including single ‘Body High’, which reached #1 on Hype Machine and has since been streamed over 13 million times. He also began working with producer and mixer Dan Grech (The Killers, Halsey, Radiohead). They worked together on Liam Gallagher’s solo album ‘As You Were’, with Davey providing sound design & programming to an otherwise organic record. The album debuted at #1 in the UK, outselling the rest of the top 20 combined and went Gold in its first week, leading to Davey’s first Platinum disc award for his involvement.
Soon after, Davey began working with Kelle Musgrave, joining her management roster of quintessential producers & mixers, in the likes of Bob Clearmountain, Dave Schiffman, and Beatriz Artola. Kelle’s guidance was extremely effective, as recent years have proved to be Davey’s busiest, packed with projects for eternally celebrated artists such as Katy Perry, Jackie Jackson of The Jackson 5, Sofi Tukker, and Whethan. He worked with Sofi Tukker in the studio as well as for the development of a new live show production to debut that year at Coachella. His relationship with Atlantic Records strengthened after contributing to Whethan club banger ‘Let Me Take You’, featuring Def Jam legend Jeremih. The song reached #1 on the US iTunes chart and Sir Elton John personally hand-picked the song to be featured on his Apple Music radio show ‘Rocket Hour’. Davey finished that year by mixing an EP for New York legend Jake Shears of the Scissor Sisters and earned his first US 01 work visa.
Right around the time of the pandemic, Davey took advantage of lockdown by taking over Baker Studios in Vancouver Island, Canada. There, he picked up a set of drums and started a collection of outboard gear that would become a signature sound of his in productions in the years following. During this time he also mixed many award-winning and charting songs for major label artists like Carly Rae Jepsen, EricDOA, aldn, Kiesza, Big Gigantic, and Moontricks. He also produced and mixed more releases with long-time collaborator Harrison Brome, began working closely on production with DJ Whipped Cream, produced and co-wrote the award-winning music for the 2021 year-end review video for Reddit, developed an albums worth of material with The Funk Hunters, and signed a publishing deal with Grayson Music Group, which would allow him to finally transition into moving his business south to Los Angeles.
